Inspired Wanderings to…
Spring has officially sprung and it's like nature just hit the refresh button!
Virginia, whilst out walking her dog Moss has been soaking in the kaleidoscope of spring colours popping up all over Hampstead Heath.
Weekends have been a delightful mix of exploring exhibitions like “Sargent and Fashion” at the Tate Modern as well as embarking on wonderful trips with friends, indulging in leisurely walks, delicious food, and revelling in the longer and lighter evenings.
It's safe to say, spring is off to a fantastic start!
One of Virginia’s favourite springtime flowers remains the tulip. And with recent work trips to Holland, she got to witness, when driving between her client meetings in Amsterdam and The Hague, the acres of tulips laid out in their colour strips. And speaking of tulips, even Virginia's own home window boxes have, just in this last week burst into life, adding a lovely splash of colour to her day!
In response to all that the new season brings, the team at the Virginia White Collection have been busy creating and developing a new and exciting woven collection, poised for unveiling later this year! For this collection, we’ve made a slight departure from our bold bright colours and moved towards more gentle, delicate and subtle hues – a pallet which has been inspired by this year’s springtime blooms.
We immensely enjoy working on such projects, especially when collaborating closely with our Suffolk based weavers, who boast a weaving tradition spanning ten generations.
We are always striving to create something new, something of quality and something proudly made in Britain!
This time of year, also reminds us of our printed linen and wallpaper design Forest, created by the very talented Rose de Borman. Launched during Clerkenwell Design Week in 2013, alongside a selection of furniture pieces that laid the groundwork for the Virginia White Collection, the Forest print continues to captivate with its two colorways: Spring and Winter. Popular for its charm and playfulness, the design remains a collection favourite and is a very popular choice especially as a wallpaper for cloakrooms and bathrooms.
And to finish, just in the last few weeks we’ve also had the pleasure of working on a few bespoke furniture commissions, embracing new sizing and unique colour combinations, tailoring pieces within the collection to the individual tastes of our discerning clients.
It is travels and experiences like this that inspire us to keep creating NEW designs, patterns and textures for the ever growing Virginia White Collection.
