Inspired Wanderings to…
Back in May 2023 we fell in love with Boston Massachusetts!
What a wonderful city to explore… We started with the incredible Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, which felt like a Venetian Palazzo that housed a very personal collection of treasures brought back from travels from around the world in the late 1800s. The creation of indoor and outdoor spaces, the pleasure of experiencing Isabella’s incredible knowledge and taste of antiquity seamlessly interwoven with her favourite painters like John Singer Sargent and Whistler is nothing short of a unique and lasting gift to the city.
Rambling about on Beacon Hill, one of Boston’s most picturesque areas was like stepping back in time. We walked through some magnificent squares such as Louisburg Square, along charming cobbled and gaslit streets as depicted in books by American British author Henry James and his friends.
The federal style architecture where many a sophisticated and wealthy Bostonian still live to this day was a treat to behold.
…We then ended our trip with a visit to the vast and endlessly impressive MFA Boston (Museum of Fine Arts Boston). Where we then caught the T to Harvard Cambridge to explore its historic university campus and see the Fogg Collection which forms part of the The Harvard Art Museum.
It is travels and experiences like this that inspire us to keep creating NEW designs, patterns and textures for the ever growing Virginia White Collection.
