Based on the Greek Klismos designs created during the C5th BC which were often depicted on pottery.
Characteristic for the curved back rest and tapering out curved legs.
Here the chair is traditionally upholstered with webbed base and horsehair filled seats to offer modern comforts for elegant dining. This chair comes as both a large and small option depending on space and dining arrangements.
I first came across the Klismos designs as a group and fell in love with the design at the wonderful Villa Kerylos in Cap Ferrat, a revivalist villa created by the German archaeologist Theodore Reinach in the early 1900s.
All our furniture is made in our London workshop using the finest and traditional craftsmanship available.
